As a mother of four, I understand firsthand that a home must be as functional and organized as it is beautiful. I believe that well-designed interiors enhance the rhythm of daily life—spaces that feel welcoming, thoughtfully curated, and uniquely yours. With a background in finance, I bring a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to every project, thoughtfully managing budgets, coordinating details, and delivering on timelines. This balance of creativity and precision is at the heart of my work.
My path to interior design has been unconventional. My passion for construction began at an early age as I spent countless hours with my father on renovation projects—laying tile, sanding drywall, and assisting with plumbing and electrical work. Even today, the scent of sawdust feels nostalgic and reminds me where my love of building and transforming spaces began. After college, I began my career in investment banking, earned a doctorate at NYU Stern, and went on to teach accounting and finance. Throughout those years, I continued to nurture my passion for creativity and construction by renovating rental properties and our own homes as our family moved. As our family grew, I shifted my primary focus to raising our children, while also helping friends with home projects and volunteering with local nonprofits. After completing a gut renovation and addition to our home –and sending our fourth off to preschool—I knew it was time to turn my passion into a profession and founded Halenda Design.
I love partnering with clients to envision what their spaces can become and then bringing those visions to life. I find real joy in creating thoughtfully curated homes that truly work for my clients.
